    PAKISTAN-1947 MEDAL TO COMMEMORATE ACCESSION OF PRINCELY STATE OF BAHAWALPUR FROM BRITISH INDIA TO PAKISTAN

    original, vintage
    about 37mm. Has correct and most likely original ribbon. In very fine condition.
    Octagonal cupro-nickel medal obverse with the head and shoulders portrait of Amir Sadiq Muhammad Khan V facing left, (in Urdu “By the Grace of God Sadiq Mohammed Abbasi Fifth. Ruler of God Gifted Kingdom of Bahawalpur”) The reverse has crossed flags of Bahawalpur (left) and Pakistan (right), five stars on each side; inscribed on reverse top is “Bahawalpur-Pakistan Union 1947”—bottom is1947 with inscription “17 zu-al-q’adah 1366 Hijri”. The medal was issued to commemorate the accession of the Princely State of Bahawalpur to Pakistan on 7 October 1947.
